16th Dec 2021

Malware threats are ever-evolving and that includes the recent SquirrelWaffle which utlises stolen reply-chain email campaigns to plant phishing emails with malicious attachments mimicking official Microsoft Excel and Word documents.

These attachments contain VBS macros that will trigger the malware within to commence data stealing actions upon enabling them. Recipients are easily deceived as these emails includes the usage of popular platforms that requires macro enabling.

With the prevalence of notorious malware campaigns targeting organisations, it is critical for organizations to implement proactive cyber defence solutions against malware attacks, whilst staying undetectable by hackers.
